Rafael Leao keen on Milan exit despite Ruben Amorim’s arrival

Some weeks ago, Rafael Leao revealed his intention of leaving Serie A side Milan. There have been suggestions that Ruben Amorim’s arrival can change his mind but the player may not be considering a u-turn.

Daniele Longo has reported that Leao’s comments about an exit from the San Siro caused the club off-guard. The interview wasn’t authorised by Milan and even his entourage was taken aback by this.

It is believed Amorim does hold the attacker in high regard. The two have exchanged messages in the last few days, with the manager presenting his tactical plan to the player. But Leao has also explained his reasons about leaving Milan, with the club’s last two seasons being a key factor.

As of now, the Rossoneri haven’t pressurised Leao into finding a new club specifically. The wait for the right offer is ongoing and if that doesn’t arrive, the parties could yet stay together.

Parting helps everyone

Increasingly, it feels like Leao has reached the end of his time at Milan and most of the fans want him gone too. That is why him staying would be a case of delaying the inevitable and turning the atmosphere much more sour than it is. That is why his departure now is the most sensible solution.
